Amazon – Ghana Climate Bridge: Linking Local Knowledge for Global Resilience
Activity summary (up to 150 words): This session will build a powerful bridge between the Amazon and African communities, uniting voices from Ghana and Brazil to share solutions for climate resilience, biodiversity protection, and environmental justice. Drawing on AGVO’s grassroots work in Ghana and partnerships with Amazonian communities, the event will highlight how traditional ecological knowledge, women’s leadership, and youth-driven innovation can address shared climate challenges such as deforestation, water scarcity, and renewable energy access. Through a hybrid panel and interactive workshop, participants will co-develop strategies that connect community-based climate action with global policy frameworks. The dialogue will foster South–South collaboration, amplify indigenous and local perspectives, and catalyze partnerships for a just climate future that spans continents.
