Voices from Indonesia: Indigenous Knowledge, Blue Food, and Climate Narratives

This event showcases the diverse voices and solutions emerging from Indonesia to address the climate crisis. It begins with a live teleconference with Indigenous communities safeguarding forests, highlighting traditional stewardship as a cornerstone of climate resilience. A Blue Food workshop then explores how sustainable fisheries and ocean-based diets can contribute to global climate mitigation and adaptation, with lessons from Indonesia’s coastal youth leaders. The program continues with the screening of Demokrasi, a documentary portraying how urban, rural, and Indigenous communities experience and respond to the climate crisis. Finally, we launch an e-photobook featuring stories of Indonesian Climate Reality Leaders, amplifying youth and community-driven climate action. Through dialogue, culture, and storytelling, this event bridges grassroots knowledge with global climate policy, reinforcing the urgency of inclusive climate justice.
