Guardians of Climate and Nature: Defending Territories and Advancing Solutions
The event examines threats to Indigenous Peoples & Local Communities’ rights and territories by extractive industries in the three tropical basins. It showcases Indigenous-led solutions for conservation, climate action, and sustainable livelihoods, giving a platform to recognised Indigenous leaders with a particular focus on the Amazon; and explores strategies to strengthen IP&LC leadership, secure land rights, and embed their voices in global governance.
